Mexican foreign minister to visit MalaysiaChina
Mexican Foreign Affairs Minister Patricia Espinosa will arrive at Kuala Lumpur Thursday night to begin her one-day working visit to Malaysia on Friday.
This will be the first visit of Espinosa, who leads a six- member delegation, to Malaysia as the president of the 16th United Nations Framework Convention for the Climate Change (COP 16) that will be held in Cancun, Mexico, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 10.
Malaysian Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement here late Wednesday that Espinosa will call on Malaysian Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Mustapa Mohamed, who is also Malaysian International Trade and Industry Minister, on Friday morning.
She will also hold a working meeting with Malaysian Natural Resources and Environment Minister Douglas Unggah Embas to discuss issues related to the global climate change and Malaysia\'s role in sustaining a balanced eco-system.
The meeting may also touch on the preparations for the COP 16 in Cancun, added the statement.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman is away to undertake a working visit to the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York from July 8 to 9.
