Rita Roy Choudhury, Director & Head - Environment, Climate Change, Renewable Energy said, “FICCI facilitates business to business connections in the carbon markets and enables Indian carbon market stakeholders to integrate with the global mainstream. FICCI is happy to be a part of this unique initiative since it has the potential to emerge as a key platform to bring global businesses together to explore and evolve economic as well as sustainable solutions for climate change."
Michael Mathres, co-Founder of the World Climate Summit said, "Our goal is to reach out to all G-20 industry associations, and we are happy that FICCI is the second one to respond to our global call, after, of course, Mexico."
About FICCI:  FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organisation in India and plays a leading role in policy debates that are at the forefront of social, economic and political change. FICCI works closely with the government on policy issues, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for industry through a range of specialised services and global linkages. It also provides a platform for sector specific consensus building and networking. FICCI serves as the first port of call for Indian industry and the international business community.
FICCI plays a lead role in the area of climate change and carbon markets focusing on climate change policy and mobilising industry input for international as well as domestic policy regimes. It also facilitates CDM buyer-seller interface, widespread stakeholder awareness and CDM information dissemination and facilitation. FICCI represents the voice of Indian business in the international business community and also promotes Indian business interest in the global carbon market thus catalyzing successful business linkages in this sphere.
